One of England’s truly great songwriter’s returns at last with a brand new Limited Edition acoustic mini album. Six great songs, recorded in his Cambridge studio with Neill MacColl (Kathryn Williams). The album showcases Boo’s folkier side with its sparse stripped back arrangements and heartfelt lyricism ahead of a full length recording which is due on Navigator in September.

These exclusive recordings are not available anywhere else and are sure to be lapped up by his dedicated fanbase. Boo recently produced and co wrote material for Heidi Talbot’s “ In Love And Light” and has been on tour this year with Heidi, Eddi Reader and Chris Difford of Squeeze. Such is Boo’s songwriting reputation he found himself as one of the chosen subjects of Nick Hornby’s “ 31 Songs” book.

Back in 2003 he produced the acclaimed best selling (40,000 UK) “Eddi Reader Sings The Songs Of Robert Burns”. Over the past decade Boo has regularly played and written together with Reader. Amongst other things, he also wrote the film scores to the movies Fever Pitch and TwentyFourSeven with Neill MacColl, who was also in The Bible.

“Having come from bands where the songs were complicated, I keep trying to get more and more simple,” Boo explains. This can be heard in the direct, often unflinching new songs he has been recording this year – “definitely the best bunch I’ve ever had” !
